The Chronicles of C.S. Lewis
C.S. Lewis is most famous for his fantasy series, The Chronicles of Narnia, which tells the tale of the Pevensie children and their adventures in the magical land of Narnia. From April 25-28, actor David Payne will bring the famous author to the stage with a performance called My Life’s Journey: An Evening with C.S. Lewis. During the show, Payne will provide details into the writing process of the aforementioned The Chronicles of Narnia. Additionally, the audience will be treated to stories about Lewis’s friendship with J.R.R. Tolkien of The Lord of the Rings fame. C.S. Lewis was a prolific writer beyond the realm of Narnia with other popular titles including The Screwtape Letters, The Four Loves, and The Great Divorce. His work often dealt with his relationship with Christianity, and that will also be represented in the stage play. Lastly, the audience will be delighted with the tale of how an American woman changed the course of his life. The performance takes place at Marine’s Memorial Theatre which is only about 20 minutes from the Alpine Inn & Suites.
